I decided to run for Police Jury because I would like for my children to have an opportunity to work in Grant Parish when they enter the job field. Right now, the field is very narrow. Most of the people that I have discussed my decision with seem to think that the police jury is the agency that takes care of our roads and nothing else. The roads are a big part of the jury's responsibilities, and I plan to continue to improve them, but I am going to focus on improving our economy in Grant Parish. With an improved economy, we can have fantastic roads and many other improved infrastructural components. Without an improved economy, we will continue to witness an average or below average infrastructure. Sometimes I even feel that we are the laughing stock of neighboring parishes, and I would like to change this perception. With 3 US highways, 3 major railroads, and the Red River, we have a great foundation to build upon, and I would like to get started with the progress.
